What have we learned as a family raising sheep, as a fiber artist working with homegrown fleece and as a Shepherdess orchestrating the flock! This is a interactive , engaging and most of all FUN program that can be suited for many levels and ages.

Walk with us through the timeline of our history and make stops in Ancient China to learn about silkworms, then onto more advanced periods of evolution where we discover the revolutionary technology and discover of even more renewable resources!
We take a trip back in time to explore fiber, twist, threads and more! Get engaged in making your own single plied thread like the Ancient Egyptians! See and touch historic tool inventions used to make lives easier for those reliant on the worth of thread. Exotic plant, insect and animal fibers at your fingertips!

In this program we showcase the mega fluffy Animal Ambassadors of our farm!
German, French, English and Satin Angoras are 4 different breeds of wool producing bunnies we raise on our farm.
We explain how this sustainable fiber is eco friendly, fun to raise and very important to our homestead. We even demonstrate how we go from bunny to beautiful garment!

Class Offerings
Drop Spindle
I am a firm believer in grasping the foundation of a concept. All successful spinners start here with the simple to use, portable and fun drop spindle tool. You must learn the key concepts of WHAT makes each and every beautiful yarn strong and reliable for future projects.
We start here. Spinning by hand... drop spindles.
All our children and beginner students start here.
You will be more confident learning this essential skill before moving on to the next steps. And why not learn the building blocks before investing in your new adventure? You will be much farther ahead then those that just start off investing in pricey equipment ( often with buyers remorse).
We will explore early forms of spinning, a tad of history and info on basic fibers as well as different types of spindles, including the really FUN "kick spindle" , supported spindles, Turkish spindles and more!
Spinning Wheels
As a enthusiast of heritage tools, spinning wheels are sorta " my thing" I love the way they look, each one tells a story. I love working on them and with them. I love sharing my passion with others and getting them introduced and acquainted with one another! Sort of like being a "match maker"! Let me show you what to look for in a wheel, how to work with not against and help improve the bond with your new friend in fiber! This knowledge will build your confidence and throw away the overwhelming feeling of endless options in the wheel world!
Spinning wheel students MUST take the Drop Spindle Class before registering for the Spinning Wheel Class.
Weaving
Building on the knowledge of spinning your own yarn, now what? Well weaving is a really fun way to use all those beautiful skeins you just made! you can even upcycle fabric scraps from around your house! Weaving is fun, therapeutic and very useful when wanting to become more self sufficient!
We have many different looms available to teach you about and on. We cover the basics to get you off to a good start and the extra "nudge" to try something new!
Hand woven fabrics, scarves, table runners, rugs, wall hangings are just a sampling of items you can make!
Crochet
Its all the rave, its a revived art that is very popular... let us teach you how!
Why do we love hand crafts like crochet? Its portable, its easy , its fun and opens up endless opportunities to make the coolest gifts for yourself, your friends or to sell!
Kids especially love to learn this craft as it can help calm fidgety hands, encourage focus and of course creativity!
Hats, gloves, scarves, toys, purses, trinket bags, blankets, sweaters, vests, slippers, cozies... SO SO SO many possibilities!
Knitting
Not your Grammys knitting... we are beyond the "ugly sweater" stage.. but we DO teach you the important basics of knitting that will unlock the doors to thousands of patterns for you to try!
Unlike crochet, knitting is done with two needles and creates a different style of finished fabric.
You can achieve a newfound hobby or turn it into a small business!
Needle Felting
You have seen those adorable bunnies, bugs and felted statues... now you can learn to make your own and impress your friends with all your newfound talents! Needle felting take barbed needles and through processes shapes them into whatever your endless imagination forms them into! Its actually very easy and children from the age of 6yrs on up can safely construct their own woolen sculptures and designs!

Classes on The COOL Bus
Unique classes on a Unique classroom!
Your class will take place in PA's First and Only Mobile Art Studio & Classroom lovingly called "The COOL Bus". This school bus transformed art studio and classroom offer a really one of a kind environment with loads of natural light and inspiration! We can't wait to welcome you aboard!
There are 3 steps to board the bus, please plan accordingly. If you do face mobility challenges we may be able to make accommodations.
Many of our classes take place at 500 Old Colony Road in Selinsgrove PA. This is also the home of the Middlecreek Valley Antique Association sharing land with the Trail of Trees. The perfect relaxing setting to host our classes!
Classes are open to everyone, some have age requirements... we encourage families to attend and explore the grounds and Trail of Trees which is free and open to the public.
About Your Teacher
Meet the Shepherdess & Artist
Mama T started her journey with fiber arts shortly after moving onto their small farm in 2013. As a lifelong artist with a passion for bringing joy to others with bright colors and her love of animals, its was only natural to combine those two subjects! Sheep were acquired and then angora rabbits and angora sheep. Raising the animals meant control over how the fibers were grown and harvested and processed. She taught her Daughter to spin on a Ashford traveler spinning wheel ( which we still own and use to teach others) at the age of 5yrs old. From there things spiraled upwards and many aspects of raising, preparing and using fibers from animals, plants, insects and recycled man mades brought things to where they are today. Expansions in weaving, crochet, knit, needle felting and more have been added to our offerings.
Thousands of hours, trial and error, taking projects apart and revamping them, improving future actions and activities, improving bloodlines of herds and management all played monumental roles in arriving at the opportunities available today.
There is a need to keep the "old ways" alive and there is a slow comeback throughout the world. The reason it is slow in my eyes is because the skills die out with the old generations , or its not taught in a fun way to engage audiences.
I am honored to be able to bring fiber arts to schools, community events, camps and more in a really FUN and unique way!
