FUR-ever Keepsakes turn your pets fur into a token of your bond you can hold close to you forever. Your pets combed, clean fur is lovingly handspun by me ( Mama T) on our gorgeous, old fashioned, foot powered spinning wheels. The fur that I spin is then handcrafted into chunky "homestyle" yarn and formed into a soft, snuggly, heart to hold dear forever.
I personally accept , prepare and spin only your pets collected fur by hand with love in a good energy and positive environment. Often by the warmth of the crackling woodstove in the cool months or on the tin roof covered front porch of our farmhouse in the warmer months. I believe in preserving the positive energy that animals exude.
FURever hearts are a wonderful gift for children going off to college/school, travel, just for fun or to serve as a once in a lifetime symbolic memorial. As a animal lover it is my way of protecting the bond between pet and owner.
I only work with clean, pest free, combed undercoat. Clippings can be used in other forms of keepsakes as stuffing but are not ideal to spin into yarn. I am able to spin most thick coated breeds on their own, however some breeds and fibers may need to be blended. We can blend pet fibers with angora rabbit fiber from our own herd of a similar color. Sheep wool and alpaca as well as exotics may be available for additional charge.

Our Experience
Hand spinning animal fur is something we are very familiar with. We raise our own sheep wool, 4 different breeds of Angora rabbit fur, Angora Goat ( Mohair) as well as work with several plant and insect based (silk) fibers.
We have a passion for turning raw fibers into something beautiful and symbolic.
Pet fur is similar in many ways. In order to hand spin our own fibers we maintain our animals through the growing process.
The end result is clean, pest free, fluffy fiber to work with.
Collection
Undercoats are the soft fluffy part of a animals coat. This is the ideal fur to spin with. Not all fiber is able to be spun. Short, spikey fur, cuttings, clippings may need to be used in other forms of crafts or as stuffing in dimensional projects.
We do offer blending your animals fur with other fibers like our own sheep wool, angora bunnny fiber and occasionally exotics like camel and bamboo.
Fur can be collected by hand, comb or while shedding...long haired breeds can be shorn. If you have a question about collection please contact us.
Preparation
Fiber that is sent to us must be clean, pest free and ideally stored in a paper bag, inside a ziploc plastic bag. With the animal and owners name on it.
Any fur that is sent to us with pests, matted, short shavings, dirty or un workable may be unusable and sent back to the owner at their cost.
We do try our best to help you preserve your pets fur in one way or another.
Any dirty fur that requires cleaning/washing/combing will be charged a additional service fee.
Creation
We can turn your pets hand spun yarn into many different creative forms of unqiue décor or wearables.
Wearables can be blended with other fibers if not ideal to spin on its own. Prices vary for this customization.

Prices start at $200 for a handspun "Heart to hold".
Shadow box frame preservation, paw print charm, hand stamped leather tag for a additional fee.
Your pets accessories can be added too!
